Electrical & Instrumentation Contractor

Plant wide
electrical
and instrumentation.

Plant Wide Services started with an idea that has not changed since: bring back the old school contractor workmanship this corridor was built on, and run a company that treats the trades as a craft worth teaching. From the first crews, the company hired for aptitude and trained its own employees in their trades, so electricians and instrument technicians learn the whole job instead of one narrow piece of it.

That is still how the work runs today. Quality work is acknowledged rather than merely invoiced — the hands who did it are recognized for it — because holding to that standard is the whole point of the company. It is also why we took on both sides of the trade at once. From a trained crew, that shows up on the job as follows: we install and replace substations, switchgear and transformers, we pull, set and land the motors fed from them, and we stay with the work through the circuit checks that follow. On the same units we install, loop check and document instrumentation and controls. One contractor answers for both sides of the work — the electrical power systems and the instrumentation loops. All of it takes place inside refining, chemical and oil & gas plants, and on the tank farms and terminals along the Houston Ship Channel.

What we are called for

The scopes,
stated plainly

Substation & SwitchgearElectrical01 / 04

Substation & Switchgear

High-voltage work from the utility tie through the unit — substation and switchgear installation and replacement, transformer setting and connections, breakers and protective devices, bus and terminations, and the grounding and commissioning support that follows.

  • Substation & switchgear installation
  • Transformer setting & connections
  • Breaker & protective device work
  • Bus and high-voltage terminations
  • Grounding grid & bonding
  • Energization support

Motor Installation & ReplacementElectrical02 / 04

Motor Installation & Replacement

Motors pulled, set and landed as a planned job — rigging coordinated with millwrights, cable installed and terminated, starters and MCC buckets squared away, and the megger, rotation and circuit checks done before the unit is handed back.

  • Motor removal & replacement
  • Rigging with millwright coordination
  • Motor termination & cable installation
  • MCC bucket & starter work
  • Raceway and conduit to the motor
  • Rotation, megger & circuit checks
Scope detail
Instrumentation & ControlsInstrumentation03 / 04

Instrumentation & Controls

The field side of instrumentation and control — transmitters and switches, analyzers, control valves and positioners, loop checks from device to control system, PLC and DCS I/O checkout, and calibration records that hold up to an audit.

  • Transmitter & switch installation
  • Control valve & positioner setup
  • Loop checks & I/O checkout
  • PLC and DCS field support
  • Calibration records (as-found / as-left)
  • Loop folders & as-built drawings

Tank Farms & TerminalsElectrical04 / 04

Tank Farms & Terminals

Electrical and instrumentation work across tank farms and terminal facilities — on the tanks, at the pump stations and out in the yard. Motors and pumps pulled, set and replaced; tank level and instrumentation installed, loop checked and documented; switchgear and motor control work; grounding, bonding and cable tray; and the yard and area lighting that keeps a tank farm workable through the night.

  • Motor and pump installation & replacement
  • Tank level and instrumentation work
  • Loop checked and documented
  • Switchgear and motor control work
  • Grounding, bonding and cable tray
  • Yard and area lighting

How the work runs

From job walk
to turnover

No mystery about where a scope stands. Four stages, and you always know which one we are in.

  1. 01

    Scope

Walk the job with your team. Review drawings, tag numbers and existing conditions, then agree where our work starts and ends.

  2. 02

    Plan

Crew size, materials, permits and schedule built around your unit constraints — not around our convenience.

  3. 03

    Execute

Field work by electrical and instrumentation crews with supervision on site, and a daily report on what moved.

  4. 04

    Verify

Loop checks, testing and commissioning support. Closeout documents, marked drawings and punch list handed over at turnover.

Safety & compliance

Nobody gets
hurt on our job

Plant rules exist because the consequences are real. We plan the work around them instead of working around them.

Contract documentation

Certificates of insurance, W-9, safety program and site-specific orientation requirements are provided during contractor onboarding. If your facility needs a specific form, ask and we will send it.

Onboarding documents →

Pre-job hazard analysis

Every job starts with a JSA and a field-level job briefing with the crew that will actually do the work.

Lockout / tagout discipline

LOTO planning and coordination with your operations group before a single conductor is landed or a loop is broken.

Permit coordination

Work permits, hot work, confined space and gas-test requirements handled with your EHS and operations teams.

Documented closeout

Job walks, daily reports and turnover documentation so your records match what was installed in the field.

Recent work

The kind of job we get called for

These are typical scopes from the Gulf Coast industrial corridor, and each one is written up the way we would hand it over to your maintenance group at turnover.
